Hi - Last week I had a new gas Boiler installed, but when the Gas Safe engineer came to connect the gas feed to the meter, he found that the gas connections at the meter were corroded. After some persuasion, he agreed to connect the new boiler up, but
took me to see the problem, and said that the problem should be reported to the national Grid.
I rang the number attached to the meter, and was told that, they only dealt with gas leaks, and as the problem was with the meter, I should report it to my supplier - E-on.
I have now had a reply from E-on saying "The pipework around the meter is the responsibility of National Grid, and as they say it is not deemed as unsafe, they will not book an emergency appointment."
I have taken a photo of the Gas Meter with corrosion, but am unable to send to E-on as they cannot give me an email address !!
Where do I go from here ??
