[DM800HD] cant flash dm800hd original

hi all been of the scene for a bit,anyway been given a dm800hd (original)
sim a2p
800 rev j mobo
alps tuner
ive checked against the wiki site and this is a genuine dm800
when it first turned on it will say dreammultimedia flash/vmlinux ?? then it trys to flash the box ??
then it will go onto the last channel,cannot access the menus on the box via the tv
unplug the box and put it into stop mode no ip addy is commin up just says dchp and stop
d/loaded dreamup 1.3.3.9 latest
and a original image from dmm,dreamup wont connect,using a null cable and network cable

any ideas pls
