While it has been known for some time that pregnant women should avoid alcohol, smoking, soft cheeses, raw eggs and high levels of caffeine (amongst other things) it seems more needs adding to the list.
According to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, cosmetics, new cars and furniture, paint, moisturisers, shower gel, food in tins or plastic and non-stick frying pans should be avoided - BBC News - Chemicals: a worry for pregnant women? - although none of this has any scientific evidence to support it.
So, pregnant women can't paint the nursery, wear makeup, bathe or eat a whole lot which means you'll come home to a bored, hungry, unnattractive, smelly hormonal monster of your own making.
The only redeeming feature seems to be that when you make the inevitable transgression you'll be safe from a slap round the head with the aforementioned frying pan...
