How to share wifi internet connection over lan

I want to use my laptop to connect to the internet via wifi connection & then share that internet connection via the lan port to an 8 port switch & onto a sat box. Laptop is on winows vista.

I have had a quick play but not had any success. The lan & wifi appear bridged but if someone has a step by step guide I would start fresh. Any pointers most welcome.
