channel lists

Hi silly one really...is there a way to update your channel lists without it wrecking the nice organized order you have put them in for the sake of a channel change or something.
At the moment i set out the channels how i want them and copy contents of etc/enigma to computer so i can ftp when i need to
and they go back in the lovely perfect order i have them.But this does not keep them updated.
