WDTV Region free ?

Hi

I have a WDTV live box, the only thing prevent this becoming exactly what I need is the software region lock

I have got the box to think its in the US by using a vpn and you get all the US tiles in the services menu if I reset the region without the vpn I get all the UK tiles does anyone know if there is any custom firmware that is region free you could then use a smart dns service to bypass the geo lock
